You as a Sr Scala Developer will build scalable and robust back-end systems in Scala for a technically demanding/impactful project.
This project will see a team of software developers build applications for the client who is one of fastest growing Fortune 1000 companies.
Responsibilities:
- Learn and master the Scala, Spark, Elastic search, HBase, and build skills in functional programming
- Break down tasks for the team, estimate the tasks and ensure they are completed to the expected level of quality
- Work with the team’s Scala architect to set and enforce clear guidelines for best practices, test coverage, and recommend design patterns
- Thrive in a faced-paced team environment, working closely with client stakeholders
Qualifications:
- 9+ years of developing experience with at least 1+ year in Scala
- Solid Enterprise Scala (or Java) fundamentals including best practices
- Open to work in technologies like Spark, Elastic search, and HBase
- Experience with the Java ecosystem (Java, JBOSS, Spring, Unix shell scripting, Python, hive, Backbone JS etc.)
- Experience in tech consulting is an asset
- Familiarity with building enterprise web platforms is an asset
